Son objet est de fournir une réponse juridique à un problème donné. L'intérêt d'une telle consultation est d'informer le client de sorte qu'il puisse adopter le plan d'action le plus adapté à sa situation. Pour qu'un tel intérêt soit satisfait, il est primordial d'être aussi clair que possible (crystal-clear diraient les anglo-saxons).
